No joke, 40 unfinished drafts since the fall. Just sitting there, some a thousand words long and some just two sentences. I really do go through and delete a lot of them now and then. There’s something about the format of these blogs (both this and the old livejournal one) that kill the spontaneity and frequency of the writing. I really wish the old myspace posts had been exportable, but alas..
So it’s fair to say that while I don’t post as frequently as I should, it’s for good reasons. I don’t mind posting more personal things, but typically not while I’m working through them or when they pertain to someone else. A start a lot of posts in reaction to things that trend on FB or particular news items, but after a day or two commentary (and often the thing itself) seems very flimsy.
The other reason is that I don’t get out much; I can’t afford to shop, or go out to bars much, or anything else. So what’s left to write about is very limited- small intimate observances, stuff that seems very claustrophobic in letters and words. Things like that don’t seem very interesting to share with anyone, and a lot of that is being used visually in the artwork. That’s where I’m pulling stuff from, and the artwork is always a bigger focus than this.
I do have at least one slightly out of time post I intend to put up shortly though.
