Turns out the reasons I refused to bother with Diablo 3 weren’t far off.
To reiterate: in order to play the game, including single-player mode, you have to maintain an internet connection with Blizzard’s servers. And on launch day, when hundreds of thousands of copies have been preordered and game stores have been rushed, were Blizzard’s servers able to handle the traffic?
Bitch if you want to, but I know you’re just trying not to feel like you wasted 80 bucks. Maybe if enough people get pissed enough to complain, Blizzard will rethink its bullshit DRM mechanism. And then maybe, just maybe, I’ll get myself a copy.
