I don’t have much to say about Occupy Wall Street (and the subsequent Occupy X Cities), outside of this:
That these numbers people aren’t grouping in some sanctioned manner with a clear leader or a bullet-point agenda speaks volumes about the unrest that we’re facing. What stands out to me are the dissenters. The “go find a job, it’s your own fault you hippie/liberal/commie/lazy/entitled” responders.
The plain truth of it is this: all it takes is a little bad luck for things to go downhill for you personally. If you have the audacity to claim that everyone’s lot in life is entirely up to them, then you can damn well stand on your own when the hammer falls on you.
