Aside from the awesome that is Egypt this week, the only real worthwhile news was the mystery piano found in Florida. Turns out it was some kid’s photography project for an entrance portfolio* (naturally), and the police made him pick it up as it was “illegal dumping”. Some awesome illegal dumping.
But it’s not the first instance of oddly-placed percussion instruments. One was found in 2006 on Ben Nevis, England’s highest mountain. This, coupled with the story a few years ago about the piano-playing amnesiac found wandering in England, inspired some short fiction writing which I may post here sometime.
*I’m rather unimpressed with the Dean’s response; most artists I know would be at least amused by this. I’d pass on any art school that takes themselves that seriously.
